Outfitting Your Kayak
Hobie is here to talk about safety and essentials when taking to the water in your kayak in this Outfitting Your Kayak video. Although we all like to hope for a sunny and beautiful day before heading out it’s always best to get a good idea of the weather conditions expected throughout the day. On top of that, it’s always nice to go kayaking with a friend so you have someone looking out for you and they have someone looking out for them. But if you decide to make it a solo run then make sure that someone knows where you’re going and how long you expect to be out. Do a quick run-through of your kayak and make sure all your items are locked down and secure. Of course one of the most important items that you should have in your kayak is your life jacket. Most places have laws in place that require you to at least have it in your boat if not actually on you. From bow lines to whistles to sponges, Hobie breaks down some of the items that they consider must-haves so that you are safe and outfitted correctly. Watch the Outfitting Your Kayak video for more tips and ways to make sure you head out onto the lake or the rivers completely outfitted.
