It’s that time again, the ice starts melting, the new wakeboards and wakeskates start rolling in and the sun starts warming our steeze. For some the season goes all year round but here in the midwest and surrounding, it’s about time for us to prepare to rock. With a new season comes some new gear and is it ever looking fresh. As in any case there are always improvements and new technologies that get all of us wakeboarding enthusiasts stoked to get out and ride. We don’t want to hog all the excitement, so let’s take a look at some of the sickest 2010 product hitting the water and hitting our site.
Liquid Force S4 Wakeboard
The Liquid Force S4 was designed and built for the Pro Wakeboard Tour Champion Phillip Soven, this board features everything a top rider could want. Featuring a progressive 3-stage rocker and low volume rails, it’s fast on the edge with more hold to go where you want. We think the best part is the rocker, why? The rocker gives you, the rider, a higher trajectory arc off the wake while maintaining a smooth flowing transition from the mid-section to the tail. Whether you’re trying to win a pro championship or just out riding with your friends, you will fall in love with this board!
Hyperlite Eden Women’s Wakeboard with Ivy Bindings
The perfect wakeboard and binding combination that will perform comfortably for all ability levels and styles. This Eden wakeboard is shaped differently from edge to edge helping a rider compensate for the awkwardness of edging, jumping and landing on a toeside edge. The subtle 3 stage rocker provides a great pop off the wake while remaining a smooth carver. Hyperlite has created this board with satin flex, this flex is specifically tailored to female needs. A softer glass lay up to create a softer flex and a board built to accommodate the high standards female riders want and expect. This Eden board by Hyperlite is a great board for riders getting into the sport or those who are looking for advancement in their skills to achieve a higher level of riding throughout the summer. 2010 is looking up for the ladies!
Hyperlite Nomad Wakeskate
Owning and using this awesome Nomad Wakeskate will have you wondering how you were able to get along without it before. Moving easily from wake place to wake place through, or on the water will not be a problem. Butch and Grubb from Hyperlite combined their talents for you to get the ultimate wakeskate. This wakeskate has a blended 3 stage rocker line to generate more speed into the wake. Butch built a wider overall profile for increased surface area to give Grubby the extra wake to wake pop he wanted. To ensure the ride was not too loose, however, the pair designed dual base channels for tighter edge hold into the wake. They finished off the design with more pronounced concaves and a hybrid EVA grip tape top, this Hyperlite Nomad is built to win another generation of titles while giving you confidence all summer long.
Ronix Frank Impact Adult Life Jacket
Frank from Ronix decided to jump into the fashion water parka world with his own signature no zip pull over design. Made from a thicker 3mm material with greater padding on those untimely bails. The 4 way stretch material will give you a custom fit and will forgive you for those extra hot dogs that you ate during lunch break. The Coast Guard might not have approved it, but Ronix’s friend Frank from the great white North gave his stamp of approval.
O’Neill Lopez Freak Boardshorts
Come hell or high water, you need a pair of boardshorts that will last. The Lopez Freak boardshorts by O’Neill are the answer. From the hyperfreak series, these boardshorts are an amazing find as a result of their technology. The Lopez Freak boardshorts are created with Dryflex 4-way stretch fabric. This means that your shorts will dry in no time and you will have full freedom of movement, even under the most extreme conditions. But wait! There is more! The small Velcro will keep your fly from coming open; because how embarrassing is that to come out of the water exposed? This Superfly functions with no drawcord tabs, reducing bulk and weight. There is no inseam construction on the Lopez Freak boardshorts and that’s a good thing because rashes will be kept to a minimum. So when you are purchasing your boardshorts for your next water outing, think about these fast-drying, stretching, no more uh-oh moment technologically advanced boardshorts!
As you can see the 2010 season is shaping up to look pretty sick! Let us all hope for some great days out on the lake with great friends making great times. If your in the market for any new wakeboarding gear this season, obviously it’s looking fresh, please let us help you along the way.
